Introduction to Land Desktop
This class will present an overview of the Autodesk Land Desktop/Civil 3D Land Desktop companion software package.
The following areas will be covered: project environment, point management, point creation, creating & managing alignments, parcel manager, terrain model explorer and surface modeling.
Prerequisite: Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and working knowledge of Autocad.
12 Hours Hands On Instruction: 2 days
Introduction to Civil Design
This class will present an overview of the Autodesk Civil Design/Civil 3D Design Companion software package. The following areas will be covered: advanced surface modeling, creating and managing profiles, creating templates and cross sections, proposed road models and pipes.
Prerequisite: Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and working knowledge of Autocad and Land Desktop software.
6 Hours Hands On Instruction
Beginning Surface Modeling with Land Desktop & Civil Design
This class is perfect for those who are just beginning to build surface models or those who aren’t sure where to begin! Creation of existing ground and proposed ground surface models will be covered. Also, we will present many techniques for modeling proposed ground surfaces that will reduce the input of time and energy to make the software do more of the work for you.
Prerequisite: Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and working knowledge of Autocad and the Land Desktop project environment.
6 Hours Hands On Instruction
Advanced Surface Modeling with Land Desktop & Civil Design
This class will demonstrate some techniques that are necessary to generate accurate surface models using Land Desktop and Civil Design. Some of the grading challenges to be covered are: existing ground definition, multi-level site plans, retaining walls and roadway intersections.
Prerequisite: Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and working knowledge of Autocad and Land Desktop terrain modeling.
3 Hours Hands On Instruction
Points Management with Land Desktop
This workshop will highlight the features and benefits of the point database manager used in Land Desktop. Some of the features to be covered are point groups, description keys and point filtering options.
Prerequisite: Basic understanding of civil engineering principle and working knowledge of Autocad and the Land Desktop project environment.
3 Hours Hands On Instruction
Alignments, Profiles & Pipes with land Desktop & Civil Design
This class will cover the process of laying out horizontal alignments, existing and proposed profiles and pipes using Land Desktop and Civil Design. We will also demonstrate and discuss the importance of using project prototypes to shorten the setup time each time these functions are performed.
Prerequisite: Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and working knowledge of Autocad and the Land Desktop project environment.
3 Hours Hands On Instruction
Roadway Templates with Civil Design
This class will thoroughly cover the creation of roadway templates using Civil Design software. We will highlight many of the “gotchas” involved in the process. We will cover basic creation, transitions, editing and design control.
Prerequisite: Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and working knowledge of Autocad and Land Desktop software.
