IntelliCAD, Carlson and Autodesk Software – desktop software for land development professionals

We had just a few fits and starts with presentations and recordings but, yesterday, we finally wrapped up this 3-part series.

My goal with these webinars was to present an up-to-date overview and explain costs and licensing options for desktop software for surveyors, engineers, contractors and other land development professionals.

The recordings are available below. The “registration” process will ask for name and email address but, unless you’ve otherwise requested to be on my mailing list, I promise not to add you to my database. If your “CADometer” is pegged to HATE, you really shouldn’t miss this FREE webinar!

On Thursday August 13th we will welcome Dave Lorenzo, President of the IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC), who will present IntelliCAD Overview: Where it WAS. Where it IS. And Where it WILL BE. This webinar will provide an introduction to IntelliCAD for anyone wondering whether it is a viable alternative to their current CAD program. Feature-wise, IntelliCAD 10 will compare most favorably to AutoCAD.

Representatives of Carlson Software will also be on the call to discuss their ongoing partnership with the ITC and reasons they develop their desktop programs on IntelliCAD as well as other platforms.

During this session we will present some of the latest updates to IntelliCAD 10 that will be included in Carlson’s 2021 product release and of most importance to land development design and construction professionals.

This webinar will be approximately an hour long.

That CAD Girl and Carlson Software Workshops 2020 – are they gonna happen???

[UPDATES: More information has now been posted on our Classrooms and Conferences page here]

I’ve started getting a lot of inquiries about if, how and when we plan to hold our workshops this year so here is our current, working plan…

November 12th, 13th, 19th and 20th: We will have 4 days of hands-on training in the Raleigh NC area. We will likely only have 10 spots available each day.

Dec 15th and 17th: We will be offering two days of “Virtual Workshops” online! As much as possible, we plan to replicate the programs we usually hold in Statesville and Raleigh NC each winter – minus the donuts and Honey Baked ham though.

Paid registration to the hands-on training will include registration to the 2 days of Virtual Workshops. This will allow anyone who decides they aren’t comfortable attending the in-person classroom training to skip it and still have the ability to get training before the end of the year.

Details of the training will be announced in the next few weeks. Make sure you register for our Newsletter so you’ll be one of the first to know!

Hope to see or “see” you there!

What’s So Special About Carlson Software’s Civil Suite? It’s All Substance, No Styles! 🙂

Update: If you missed the live presentation, click here to view the recording

Interested in learning more about the programs in Carlson Software’s Civil Suite?

Register here to join us for this FREE and informative webinar demonstrating some of the best features of Carlson’s land development programs for land surveyors and civil engineers.

This full survey and design suite includes Survey, Civil, Hydrology and GIS and can be run with an embedded version of IntelliCAD or on top of your separately purchased copy of AutoCAD R2015-2021.

Not interested in the full suite? Any of these modules can be purchased separately or you can mix and match any of these 6 programs to make your own bundle of programs: Survey, Civil, Hydrology, GIS, CadNet and Point Cloud Basic.

Join us for this free webinar to see how it stacks up to your Civil 3d, TerraModel, Eagle Point, Land Desktop or other program. For those of you who loved (love?) your Land Desktop, Carlson’s Civil Suite is the closest thing to a Land Desktop upgrade as there is on the market – it’s reasonably priced, easy to learn and includes completely free tech support as well.

Autodesk Licensing Changes – Plan for the Future and How it Will Affect Carlson Software Users – View this recorded presentation

Update: This was a live presentation on July 22, 2020 but you can view the recorded webinar here

With an eye toward Autodesk’s licensing policy changes coming up quickly in August, I have had a lot of questions of my own and also on behalf of my customers.

On Wednesday July 22nd, Autodesk reseller CAD Masters will join me for this FREE and informative webinar to help answer these questions and more. You can register here.

??? If I’m currently using Carlson with IntelliCAD but would prefer to run Carlson on top of AutoCAD or AutoCAD Map, what do I need to purchase? What would be my initial cost? And my cost going forward?

??? If I’m currently using Carlson but have some old licenses of Land Desktop or Civil 3d (really old…!), can I convert those to a current AutoCAD or Map to run under my Carlson? What would be my initial cost? And my cost going forward?

??? If I’m still using Land Desktop but know I need to change – what are my options to upgrade to Civil 3d? What would be my initial cost? And my cost going forward?

??? My office currently has a network license with several seats of AutoCAD, Map and Civil 3d – what changes do I need to be aware of? What would be my initial cost? And cost going forward?

Carlson Software’s Precision 3D Topo 2020 and Precision 3D Hydro 2020

Carlson Software recently released a 2020 version or “mini-upgrade” of their Precision 3D Topo and Hydro programs. Because it’s being released mid-cycle (between 2019 and 2021), Carlson is giving this as an automatic update to users with P3D 2019.

If you currently use P3D 2019, you can download P3D 2020 here and can use your 2019 serial number during the installation process.

Interested in trying it out? Email That CAD Girl for a 30 day trial serial number and download link.
