Sample Training Classes
This class will provide a thorough overview of AutoCAD/IntelliCAD that will most benefit the beginning user and managers or principals wanting to know the basics.
Although these programs are not discipline-specific (ie. Civil, architectural, etc.) some areas will be discussed from a land surveying and civil engineering perspective.
Menus, coordinate formats, basic commands, drafting tools, layering, blocks, object properties and plotting will be covered.
Prerequisites: Basic computer knowledge.
With a new release of Autocad coming out every year, it’s hard to keep up! Come to this class to learn about the newest features contained in the last several releases of Autocad such as: dynamic blocks, tool palettes, the customized user interface (CUI) editor, tables, fields and sheet set manager.
We’ll also spend some time on external references, paper space and drawing orientation & rotation that are typical headaches to users.
Prerequisite: Basic understanding of Autocad functionality.
As a manager of CAD drafters and designers, do you find yourself asking, “How’d they do that? Why is it taking so long? Why can’t I just get in there and fix that? What in the world is a layer?
Or, maybe you want to know “just enough to be dangerous” about AutoCAD or IntelliCAD.
Whether you once considered yourself a pro at AutoCAD Release 10 or have yet to open your first DWG file, the information provided during this class will help you manage your CAD personnel more effectively and, quite possibly, help in production during those crunch times.
This class will be an overview of AutoCAD and IntelliCAD functionality covering such basics as file types, file management, layers, CAD standards, inquiry commands, plotting & printing. We will look at seemingly basic instructions that might be given to your CAD staff and the actual steps needed to complete them – you might be surprised!
Prerequisite: Basic computer knowledge.
Imagine a training class that allows you to create your own set of CAD Standards for your company that you can take back to the office with you. This 2 day class provides 12 hours of hands on training and guidance to help you create a comprehensive CAD standard for your company. We will cover standard layers, linetypes, pen weights, text styles, blocks and title blocks.
A more detailed list and description of needed content will be provided after registration. In order to ensure that each attendee is prepared for and brings the content needed for the class, a one hour pre-training session will be held online approximately 2-3 weeks before the class.
Please bring your own laptop and mouse. Trial versions of Carlson Civil Suite with IntelliCAD will be provided if needed.
Pre-Requisite: General working knowledge of IntelliCAD or AutoCAD and basic computer knowledge
This class is currently scheduled for: Mon/Tues, September 20-21 in Raleigh, NC
This class will demonstrate how to create a standard sheet set file and how to update your standard title blocks to work with sheet set manager.
Prerequisite: Basic AutoCAD functionality
Dynamic blocks are one of the most exciting new features of AutoCAD to come along in many years. Even learning the most basic steps can save many hours of production.
This class will teach you how to add basic parameters to and combine some of your most used blocks to increase their functionality. We will also look at how dynamic block properties can be extracted to tables and automatically update when quantities or properties change.
Prerequisite: Basic AutoCAD functionality
This class is designed to present the basics of Autocad as needed to work with Carlson software’s stand-alone Survey, Roads and TakeOff software packages.
Prerequisite: Basic computer knowledge
